    Three Expressions of Christmas Expectation
      I.               The CLUES of Christmas Expectation – Luke 2:10-12                   A.     Luke 2:10-12 “But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, for I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to all the people: Today your Savior is born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.”   B.     Matthew 1:1-2 Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men[a] from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking,2 “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose,[b] and we have come to worship him.”     C.     Matthew 2:6 “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’[a]”   D.     Matthew 1:23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child!  She will give birth to a son     II.              The CUES of Christmas Expectation.     A.     Luke 2:10-11 But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!   Romans 3:23 Romans 6:23   B.     Matthew 1:23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child!  She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”   C.     John 3:16. “For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life   III.            The Quest of Christmas Expectation.    A.     Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.   B.     Matthew 7:7-8
    “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
